  1. When does the class start?
    These courses are all Independent study, so you enroll and begin at your convenience. There are no deadlines, except that you must complete the work within one year.
  2. How often do I come to Fresno for class sessions?
    Never! You will be sent all the materials you need to complete the course and you work at your pace in your own space.
  3. How many units do I get for one course?
    Each course earns 3 semester units of graduate-level professional development credit.
  4. May I enroll in more than one course at a time?
    You may enroll in as many as nine (9) units concurrently and complete a maximum of 18 units in a semester.
  5. What if I'm off-track or on summer vacation? Do I need a classroom full of children?
    The courses are designed to excite and motivate your students / athletes. You will be eager to try the activities with them! To accommodate persons not in the classroom, however, we offer flexible alternative assignments.
  6. Tell me more about Fresno Pacific University. Is it a reputable school?
    Fresno Pacific University is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In addition to its undergraduate programs, it offers masters degrees in several fields.
  7. For what grade level are these courses designed?
    Some of the courses may be adapted for almost any grade level. Others are more clearly targeted. Read the detailed description to get more information.
  8. Are these courses graduate level?
    The FPU Center for Professional Development offers graduate level, professional development courses that are primarily designed for students who have baccalaureate degrees and need units for professional advancement. If concerned, students should seek approval from their district officials before enrolling in these courses.
  9. How long does it take to get a grade or transcript?
    The average time needed for an official grade report is approximately two weeks after the instructor receives your completed work. After you receive the grade report, you may request a transcript, which may take up to another two weeks. You may request "rush" delivery, however, for an additional fee.
  10. Will I ever talk to the course instructor?
    In most cases, that's up to you. I am happy to return your phone call. It is most effective, however, to communicate with us via e-mail. I check my e-mail every day and always answer promptly!
  11. How do I sign up?

  12. I registered for a course and am finding it is not what I need. What can I do?
    Students are permitted to withdraw or change courses within four weeks of the registration date. A full refund, less a $30 handling fee, will be granted if a course is dropped within four weeks of the registration date and all materials are returned to the instructor in their original condition.
